Technical Services Engineer III

We are looking for an experienced Technical Services Engineer III to support our team in Eatonton, GA.

Position Summary

Develop and support current product offerings and applications through lab work, plant trials, oversight of third- party testing, and sales support. Develop new customers through prior technical relationships and field sales support.

Essential Functions

• Work with VP of Research and Development and Director of Geology and Technical Services to develop new applications and new products using current AMI mineral resources
• Work with Product Manager to support current product offerings and applications and to provide technical support for sales
• Work at customer sites during extended trials to provide initial support for new accounts/products/applications
• Facilitate third party product research, including budget and objectives
• Train sales team prior to new product launch and provide technical support to facilitate commercialization of new products
• Formulate recommendations based on research, analysis and interactions with accounts
• Document activities utilizing SharePoint and Salesforce
• Adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position and department, and as required by ISO
• Other duties as assigned

1. Technical Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Geology or Chemistry or applicable commercial experience preferable
2. Eight years of experience in business development, QMS, research or sales of mineral products, industrial minerals or industrial raw materials preferred. Focus on kaolin, attapulgite, ceramics, fiber glass or coatings preferred
3. Ability to travel 30%-50% with possibility of international travel. Occasional extended period site work required
4. Excellent oral/written communication skills with well-developed presentation skills
5. Must have the capability to work independently and as a member of internal and customer teams
6. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
7. SharePoint experience preferred
8. Valid Driver’s License
9. Valid US Passport required or must be obtained

Working Conditions/Environment:

Work is mainly performed in a general office environment, with some work being performed in a production environment. Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop and climb up to 70 feet. Able to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity required for operation of a computer keyboard. Vision and a sense of hearing are also required.
