POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining crowd and access control, which includes assisting guests/customers and team members as needed and maintaining order. The incumbent will also patrol the facility grounds to provide safety and security for our guests and team members.

GENERAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain order on Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City property during scheduled shift.
  • Assist sick or injured patrons and team members
  • Check identification of all persons that appear to be under 30 years of age or younger within the gaming floor.
  • Patrol the parking lots to prevent theft, vandalism, illegal entry and fire
  • Monitor all vehicles entering and exiting the parking lot
  • Patrol areas around buildings to ensure integrity of contents
  • Observe rules of the road in accordance with all state and local laws
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, operations and safety hazards
  • Maintain vehicle in working condition, alerting Supervisor to any necessary repairs.
  • Knowledge of the property to effectively communicate all amenities to guests and visitors who may be visiting the property
  • Assist guests' in locating their vehicles
  • Resolve customer requests, questions, and complaints
  • Lift, carry, and/or remove barricades in order to open or close parking areas
  • Actively look for ways to assist guests
  • Assist valet attendants during peak times, when necessary
  • Maintain an eligible driving status.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must have ability to:

  • Spend time outdoors during events, as well as on the casino floor, as events occur. Position is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise levels and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
  • Communicate effectively, with customers as well as all levels of team members.
  • Identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations.
  • Work in varying weather conditions, proper clothing provided.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively listen and verbally communicate with guests. Ability to maintain a friendly, courteous and polite demeanor.

A current motor vehicle report (MVR) will be required for every driver. All drivers must hold a valid driver's license for their state of residence and must have retained a license for the previous three years. If any of the following circumstances appear, the driver will not be acceptable:

  • Three accidents within 36 months, regardless of fault.
  • More than one infraction for a moving violation on a stopped school bus.
  • An infraction for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle.
  • An infraction for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle.
  • A conviction for hit and run, eluding police, felony with a motor vehicle, negligent homicide.
  • A conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speed contest, reckless driving or exhibition speed contest within the past 60 months.
  • A conviction for filing a false accident report, insurance claim, motor vehicle report or a conviction for felony auto theft.
  • More than three speeding convictions in the past 24 months.
  • Under the age of 21, unless specifically approved by the underwriter.
  • Had their license suspended or revoked during the past 36 months
  • Accumulated more than 6.5 points in the last 36 months.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member's department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
