Conjured from the rich imagination of hospitality visionary Brent Bolthouse, The bungalow radiates the relaxed charm of another era and mark’s The Bungalow brands second location in Southern California.
We are a cocktail lounge/bar with a 70’s California house party theme. We play beachy, mellow feel good music in the 70’s & 80’s genre. We have a DJ Thursday-Sunday, starting at 9:45pm, and Saturday & Sunday starting at 3pm. We are open 5 days a week, with last call at 1:30 and, closing at 2AM. We pride ourselves on being a destination full of amazing specialty cocktails, entertainment, and a welcoming team! As a service assistant you are the face of The Bungalow, and your most important job is to ensure we greet and take care of all our guest!

Our Vision:
To incorporate all of the favorite charms of the Santa Monica location, while paying homage to Huntington Beach’s ‘Surf City’ history and community. The venue’s rustic and vintage interior designs, expansive ocean views and uniquely curated spaces will be complemented by The Bungalow’s refreshing menu of signature cocktails and exclusive bites from culinary partner Bear Flag Fish Co.

Scope of Position:
The Bungalow Service Assistant will assist the server in maintaining impeccable standards of service to our guests and assist in the overall upkeep of the venue in order to ensure our guests consistently enjoy a delightful experience.

The Service Assistant- reports directly to the General Manager-AGM, Managers

Goals and Objectives for Service Assistant Job description:
To have a better understanding of all areas of responsibilities for the server position, revisit and re-train on specific job duties/systems in place, and to create a consistent, thriving, and overall productive environment for the business, in which we can all implement and execute.

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities:

  • Be prepared to work weekends, late nights, and holidays

  • Complete all daily and weekly side work cleaning duties

  • Assist in all set up and break down of the venue

  • Ensure that your work area is clean and organized at the start of the shift

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the venue, both front of house and back of house areas,

    at all times

  • Approach and interact with guests with a smile and friendly demeanor. Respond to

    all guest questions. Provide assistance, direction, and information as requested

    when working in public areas

  • Be available on channel 4 at all times ready to take a request from colleagues immediately

  • Be constantly available to promptly deliver food to guests. Prior to delivering food orders, it is the responsibility of the Service Assistant to ensure that all food orders are accurate and correct with ingredients, garnishes, and condiments

  • Assist servers in preparing and delivering bottle service orders to tables

  • Constantly carry a silver bucket through the venue prepared to collect used

    glassware, plates, and debris from tables

  • Abide by all state, federal, and corporate liquor and food regulations pertaining to

    serving and handling food and alcohol (LEAD, TIPs, RBS, and Food Handlers)

  • Attend all required meetings and daily pre shifts

  • Have a positive influence on the team by constantly maintaining a positive and

    gossip free work environment

  • Maintain a level of energy to respond urgently to staff, guest, and venue requests

  • Be willing to go the extra mile and take pride in the work you do.

    Requirements

    Mandatory:

  • 2-3 years’ previous experience as a busser in a restaurant setting. Some experience in a nightlife setting a plus

  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal in the English language

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes am, pm, weekends and holidays

  • Must have the upmost professional standards

  • Maintain proper grooming standards, appearance and friendly demeanor

  • Ability to handle multiple guest requests and work under a high paced environment

  • Must be 21 years or older .

  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds

  • Must be able to work on your feet, standing up for an 8 hours shift.
