Residential Advisor- Part Time

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday

The Residential Advisor provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of the Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program-eligible youth ages 16-24.

Summary of Duties: The Residential Advisor provides a safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives and utilizing behavior management and intentional and consistent practices. Conducts dormitory operations in accordance with Center operating policy and procedures and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Description of Duties:

  • Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
  • Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
  • Ensures that students meet the required schedule, waking on time and being on time for school or work assignments.
  • Ensures that students are adequately prepared for the training day; students have dressed appropriately, etc.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, and the Center’s Operating Procedures.
  • Practices and models the Career Success Standards.
  • Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, special recreation activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation, and programmed activities.
  • Provides informal counseling related to stress management, personal problems, emergency or home situations, etc., with students, and provides insight into responsible behavior and attitudes.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Valid state driver’s license
