Position Description: Part-Time Furniture Warehouse Support 

PositionReports To: ReStore Manager and/or Assistant ReStore Manager 

Position Status:  Part Time, hourly position.  Varying shifts Tuesday through Saturday- 8:00am - 4:30pm  29 hours maximum / week 

 MUST HAVE SATURDAY AVAILABILITY  

Job Summary: The Warehouse Support will be responsible for supporting the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County by providing excellent customer service and a safe work environment under the directives of the ReStore Manager and within all established policies and procedures. 

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrates commitment to Habitat’s mission. 
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to multitask. 
  • Ability to provide direction and support to volunteers. 
  • Ability to work well and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public. 
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure. 
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Valid SC driver’s license with good driving record required. 
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75lbs and heavy lifting required. 

 

Essential Job Functions for Warehouse: 

  • Arrives for work promptly and dresses neatly in a Habitat for Humanity shirt. 
  • Receives store merchandise and moves to appropriate pricing areas in an efficient and responsible manner. 
  • Delivers merchandise to appropriate area on sales floor after it is priced. 
  • Remove all merchandise sold from the sales floor to the appropriate designated spot. 
  • Keeps merchandise organized allowing for as much available floor space as possible.  
  • Assists truck drivers as needed with loading and unloading large pick-ups and deliveries. 
  • Keeps work area clean and paperwork filed. 
  • Assists customers in a professional manner. 
  • Ensures that merchandise is handled efficiently and with proper care to avoid damage. 
  • Performs other related duties as required or as the manager requests. 

 

Warehouse Opening Responsibilities: 

  • Store cleaning 
  • Recover- sold items removed from floor and replaced. 

 

Administration 

  • Clocks in and out to accurately reflect all hours worked. 
  • Changes to days or hours worked must first be approved by the ReStore Manager and/or Assistant ReStore Manager 
  • Work hours and days are subject to change as deemed necessary by the ReStore Manager and/or Assistant ReStore Manager 

 

SECURITY/BACKGROUND CHECK 

  • Must be able to pass HFHHC requirements for background check and drug screen. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet Company’s Insurance requirements. 

 

WORK ENVIROMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
The work is performed both on the sales floor and in the warehouse. Frequent seasonal exposure to the elements throughout every season can be expected. 

Must be able to: 

  • Stand/move or work on concrete floors for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Bend, lift, grasp, reach, push, and pull materials. 
  • Walk/move and climb/reach on uneven surfaces, ladders, and stairs. 
  • Label, sort, and stock, lift/move minimum of 75 lbs. and heavier team lifts.
