Utility Locator - O'Neill

With over 3000 miles of Fiber in over 100 cities, Viaero Fiber Networks is growing and looking for a Utility Locator to join our team. We’re looking for a Locator who will be committed to preventing damage to our network and ensuring services are consistent and reliable. What you’ll do:

• Perform accurate and safe locating of underground telecommunications cable/fiber
• Able to work independently to plan and prioritize activities to ensure maximum efficiency and timely completion of locates
• Read and understand locate tickets and the ticketing system
• Communicate with other team members and have strong communication with contractors
• This position will require you to at times be on call for emergency locates, which can include evenings, weekends, holidays
• Drive to job site in various locations throughout your area and surrounding areas

How you know if you qualify:

• You are at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license with good driving record
• You’re able to perform manual tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, walking & standing for long periods
• You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• You’re proficient with a computer and are quick to learn new technology
• You can lift at least 50 pounds
• You can work year-round outside in all elements
• You’re able to pass all pre-employment checks, including substance screening, criminal background, and motor vehicle record checks
• You can travel as needed, including overnights at times if a project warrants
• You have a strong attention to detail and a desire to advance
• Passion for accuracy and a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work on your own with strong time management skill.
