Job Title:         Youth Program Coordinator

Department:    Tribal Police Department, Justice Division

What We Are Seeking: A self-motivated professional to assist with the development and implementation of all Chickaloon Traditional Tribal Court programs for Indigenous Youth including: the Tribal Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court (TJHWC) program, and the Tribal Youth Attendance Achievement Court (TYAAP) program, and others. The Youth Program Coordinator (YPC) assists in planning, case plan management and monitoring, and contributing to culturally-centered decisions concerning outcomes for Indigenous youth. The YPC promotes public safety, improved school attendance and abstinence from alcohol and substances, by modeling healthy behaviors and monitoring and supervising Indigenous youth accepted into court programs.

 

Additional Responsibilities: The YPC will be responsible for the development of policies and procedures for case management and grant reporting requirements for implemented programs.

 

Qualifications, Education & Experience: 

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in youth services, legal systems, social services and/or care coordination is required. We are willing to train CNV Tribal citizens.
  • A bachelor’s degree in justice, social work, psychology, or a similar field is preferred but may be substituted for 4 additional years of relative experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills; including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain cooperative relationships and work successfully as a member of a team.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet sometimes competing deadlines.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and embrace new or updated software.

Certificates and Licenses Required: A valid Alaska Driver’s license is required for this position and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy.


Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
