Seeking an independent worker who takes pride in their work and makes cleanliness a priority! This is a part-time position that may have an opportunity for full-time.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide preventative cleaning services for retail store in accordance with green cleaning methods and best industry practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas in the retail store, ensuring store is clean, hazard free (within the custodian’s span of control)
  • Dispose of trash in proper receptacles
  • Wet and dry mop hard floors and vacuum carpet, moving all obstacles to ensure cleaning complete surface
  • Clean windowsills, drinking fountains, and dust fixtures such as shelves and furniture
  • Restock, clean, and sanitize all restroom and breakroom surfaces, including urinals, floors, pipes, walls, tables, etc.
  • Clean and spot clean walls, floors, and carpets, as needed
  • Proper and immediate reporting of incidents/accidents
  • Notify supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement or any other potential safety hazard.
  • Participate as an active team player
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative and respectful relationship with supervisor and co-workers
  • Empty all outdoor trash cans and cigarette receptacles and pick up trash on the grounds, including leaf clean up
  • Follow all safety, security, exposure control and hazardous waste policies and procedures including fire and electrical safety, emergency drills, proper body mechanics, protective clothing/equipment, and use of hazardous chemical and waste.
  • Be able to adjust schedule due to operational needs of the store
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous custodial experience preferred

May be required to regularly stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach with hands/arms with full range of motion, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push or pull. Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to hold, handle and feel objects, knobs, keys and/or buttons.

Moderate

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
