Job Summary:

We seek a Lineman who is a highly skilled worker who specializes in constructing and repairing overhead cable systems for cable TV, telephone, and fiber lines. They receive extensive training in handling specialized equipment to service these communication systems. Additionally, they possess practical knowledge of RF and fiber network components and systems, enabling them to perform troubleshooting and repair tasks efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a bucket truck, climb poles and ladders as necessary, and utilize tools of the trade
• Knowledge of required electrical clearances and experience working safely near commercial power lines
• Install or repair fiber and coax cable and related components
• Construction and repair of overhead Cable TV and Fiber systems
• Understand how to read and understand network plans and schematics
• Familiarity with equipment and components necessary for these systems
• Follow instructions from management
• Work in a team environment
• First responder during storms and emergency cable plant restoration
• Proficient in bucket truck operation
• Must be able to climb poles and ladders

Job Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screening
• Have a current Driver's license and a clean driving record
• Proficient in bucket truck operation
• Advanced knowledge of NESC and governing regulatory requirements for aerial cable placement
• Advanced knowledge of equipment

• Able to use a shovel and post-hole digger
• Ability to work out in the elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
• Ability to work at heights up to 50'
• Must be able to climb poles

• Lifting up to 50 pounds several times a day
• Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds
• Bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and crawling
• Long hours involving overtime and weekends as necessary
• Ability to read effectively from a computer screen, sampling device, and a paper copy
• Ability to work multiple tasks in a stressful environment while maintaining a positive and pleasant manner with others
• Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform various tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends
