Position Summary:

As a Housekeeping Specialist, you will be responsible for cleaning our Memory Care residents’ apartments and public areas according to a schedule and established procedures. Our Housekeeping Specialist for our Memory Care neighborhood is expected to engage residents who have cognitive impairments through conversation and physical activity while encouraging independence and self-direction.

Required Experience for Housekeeping Specialist:

  • High school diploma and/or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You love to laugh and have fun while working hard to provide excellent service.
  • Experience working with individuals who have memory loss is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and complete assigned projects timely and accurately.
  • Ability to build strong rapport with families and residents.

Accountabilities for Housekeeping Specialist:

  • Demonstrates and models company culture and values –safety, common beliefs, and a culture of feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to be authentic, understands the value of devotion to employees and inspires excellence through empowering employees to pursue their best version.
  • Encourage, coach, and support Memory Care team members to inspire compassionate and positive relationships with residents.
  • Responsible for the daily tidiness of the Memory Care neighborhoods including resident apartments.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly cleans of resident apartments.
  • Model resident engagement presence when in neighborhood.
  • Oversees and facilitates clean-up of meals and kitchenette.
  • Participates in scheduled care conferences when appropriate.
  • Formulate and sustain optimal relationships with residents and their families. Provide assistance and support as needed.
  • Ability to influence and optimize the efforts of others by relationship building and continuously coaching.
  • Coordinate with community leadership team to ensure positive and meaningful experiences for Memory Care residents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

General Working Conditions:

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Travel to different locations required.
