Safety Specialist

AGRA Industries is a family owned company that has been in the Merrill, WI community since 1962. We offer design, fabrication, equipment supply, and construction to the feed, seed, grain, ethanol and biofuels industries worldwide. At AGRA Industries we pride ourselves in providing an innovative, challenging and safe work experience. Currently we are looking for a Safety Specialist to join our growing team.

Summary:

The Safety Specialist is responsible for a broad range of safety activities. These activities include safety management, conducting safety audits, providing safety trainings, participating in accident investigations, and leading the construction safety program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct new hire safety orientations.
• Support pre-project planning, including Safety Task Analysis and Job Hazard Assessments.
• Conduct site work area inspections and audits to ensure safety standards are being met.
• Control potentially hazardous working conditions in collaboration with leadership by outlining safety plans, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed,
• Complete and track all necessary inspections to ensure compliance.
• Partner with leadership in investigating, reporting, and developing action plans related to safety incidents and near misses.
• Oversees the administration of the workers compensation program.
• Ensure all required records and reporting are completed and accurate to ensure compliance, including OSHA reporting.
• Manage transportation safety, security, and DOT programs to ensure compliance.
• Performs PPE hazard assessments for the construction team and ensures appropriate inventory is available and provided to the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or other related field, and at least one year of experience in industrial safety, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• First aide and/or CPR Certification is preferred.
• OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
