Job Summary:

The Information Systems Technician is an integral part of the IT Department. This position provides the first level of support to end users with issues related to desktop computer, peripheral and phone support. SVMS has invested heavily in an IT infrastructure to facilitate its business and counts on the IT Department to maintain and support this investment. The position requires the employee to be up to date on the latest technologies and work as a team with staff to ensure technology does not create a barrier to the success of the organization.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing computer system.
  • Support various system wide telecommunications systems.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge base to effectively manage and maintain SVMS information systems.
  • Provide one on one technical assistance and support to end users.
  • Respond to assigned requests for technical assistance and document resolution.
  • Process, identify, resolve, and document repair problems.
  • Coordinate, participate, and oversee the installation of additional computer devices and memory upgrades.
  • Perform testing and implementation of system software enhancements/modifications as assigned.
  • Maintain a confidential, secure environment within SVMS information systems.
  • Perform user account maintenance functions consisting of adding, updating, or modifying user privileges, security parameters and system access.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Essential Skills and Education Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point)
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to conduct training with all levels of SVMS
  • 3-5+ years of IT experience
  • Team Player
