Salary:

HCH Rehabilitation & Therapy Services is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN basis with a minimum commitment of two shifts weekly. This position has the potential to evolve into a full-time role based on performance and organizational needs.


As a COTA at HCHD, you will work alongside licensed physical therapists and other healthcare professionals in various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, home health, assisted living, and senior living communities. You will play a vital role in helping patients improve their quality of life by assisting them in regaining independence in daily activities, enhancing mobility, and promoting overall wellness.


The regular business hours of this department is Monday- Friday 8am-5pm. 


Responsibilities:

Collaborate with licensed occupational therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to facilitate the development of functional skills, including activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.
Assist patients in improving muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and endurance through therapeutic exercises and activities.
Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies to maximize independence and safety at home and in the community.
Document patient progress, response to treatment, and any changes in condition accurately and timely.


Requirements:

Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Current BLS certification or ability to obtain at hire.
Minimum of One year experience working as a COTA in a clinical setting preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to work PRN shifts, with a minimum commitment of two times weekly.
