Job Description
Established in 1983, MCA Communications is a Design-Build Technology Integrator specializing in network cabling infrastructure, audio visual installations, wireless solutions, and security solutions for schools, hospitals, corporate buildings, and industrial facilities.
MCA is seeking a full-time skilled commercial Building Maintenance Technician. To be successful in this role, you must possess commercial repair experience, basic carpentry skills, light plumbing knowledge, electrical knowledge, and abilities as a general handyman. You must be able to identify, document, and report maintenance and repair work. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will also complete tasks in conjunction with our Logistics and Warehouse Inventory team. Applicants will need to possess their own set of basic hand tools for repairs.
Applicants must be proficient in the following:
- Drywall repairs and painting
- Flooring, tiling, laminate, and epoxy
- Intermediate plumbing & electrical work
- Low voltage cabling
- Security & alarm service work
- Monitoring of building security
- Door Repairs (hinges, hydraulic closers, frames, flush bolts, pivot joints, door latches, locking mechanisms, weather-strips, etc.)
- Commercial door replacements
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must pass a criminal background check and pass a drug test
- Must be willing to work anywhere in Houston and surrounding area
- Must have your own reliable transportation
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule when needed
- Must have availability to dispatch to building when needed
Abilities:
- Lift up to 75 pounds at one time and at least 50 pounds for an extended period of time.
- Fully utilize and relocate a 10-12 foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet; can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Full ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, turn, twist, crawl, squat, walk, climb, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see the differences in colors, shades, and brightness
- Possess the ability to understand and communicate in English at a minimum conversational level.
- Meet any and all OSHA safety requirements.
