Fisheries Technician III

***BASED IN PRAIRIE CITY, OREGON*** Assists CTWS Native Plant Nursery staff with daily operations of native plant production. Participates in seed collection, plant propagation, plant maintenance, and out-plantings. Performs plant maintenance duties such as weeding, thinning,

watering, fertilizing, and transplanting, as well as keeping up-to-date records of plant numbers, germination rates, fertilizer rates, and seed collections. Works while standing, sitting, kneeling, and frequent bending and lifting for long periods; and can lift/move objects up to 50 lbs.

Knowledgeable in the operation of UTV/ATVs, as well as greenhouse/nursery equipment and irrigation systems.

Must have a natural resource background, ideally in horticulture, botany, plant ecology, or closely related field; with an Associates in horticulture or related field AND six months of greenhouse, nursery, or plant propagation experience OR a minimum of three years’ experience in a greenhouse or nursery setting with a strong proficiency in knowledge/skills. Must have a strong interest in plants, be able to work independently and in a team, valid driver’s license, and

pass a drug test.
