Job Description
Job Title: MIG Welder
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (10 hours of OT)
Pay: $18.00/hr to start ($990/week before taxes)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
- Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
- Weld materials in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Inspect completed welds to check their strengths and appearance.
- Reading and interpreting specifications and blueprint drawings accurately.
- Ability to take instructions verbally as well as on paper.
- Training and mentoring welding recruits.
- Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
- Diagnosing issues and troubleshooting as required.
- Reading a tape measure and using basic hand tools - squares, hammer, chisel, center punch, banding equipment, etc.
- Ability to load parts in jigs.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery to transport materials.
- Maintaining welding safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a risk-free work environment.
- Carry out welding according to set dimensions to meet general test requirements.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Education, Skills, and Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Requires basic math skills and reading a tape measure.
- Experience in MIG welding, reading details, lay-out, and fit-up.
