Job Description
Job Title: MIG Welder
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (10 hours of OT)
Pay: $18.00/hr to start ($990/week before taxes)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Selecting, measuring, cutting, and joining appropriate metals to specifications.
  • Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Weld materials in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Inspect completed welds to check their strengths and appearance.
  • Reading and interpreting specifications and blueprint drawings accurately.
  • Ability to take instructions verbally as well as on paper.
  • Training and mentoring welding recruits.
  • Regularly cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
  • Diagnosing issues and troubleshooting as required.
  • Reading a tape measure and using basic hand tools - squares, hammer, chisel, center punch, banding equipment, etc.
  • Ability to load parts in jigs.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery to transport materials.
  • Maintaining welding safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a risk-free work environment.
  • Carry out welding according to set dimensions to meet general test requirements.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Education, Skills, and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires basic math skills and reading a tape measure.
  • Experience in MIG welding, reading details, lay-out, and fit-up.
