PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  • This role involves constructing and repairing injection molds for the Medical Industry.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and set up CNC milling machines and general tool room equipment.
  • Utilize Gibbs Cam, Part Maker, and possess knowledge of Solid Works for programming.
  • Assess specifications, arrange metal stock, set up and run machine tools, file, grind, shim, ensuring form fit and function during assembly. Adjust various parts to ensure proper functionality.
  • Construct and repair Molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, models, and specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, molds, or assemblies.
  • Analyze solid models and detailed prints.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail while adhering to tight tolerances.
  • Assume accountability for the quality of workmanship and dimensional accuracy of tasks performed.
  • Determine the station and timing of each operation to ensure efficient tool and time utilization.
  • Calculate dimensions, rotation speeds, and feed rates.
  • Conduct necessary data collection and maintain records.
  • Communicate clearly with shop personnel.
  • Be punctual regarding assigned task hours.
  • Implement efficient machine setups and time management.
  • Apply efficient tool path strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

To excel in this role, an individual must be capable of satisfactorily performing each essential duty. This includes proficiency in tight tolerance work, within +/- 0.0002”.

  • Completion of Tool & Die Journeyman program or a minimum of 5 years of Tool & Die experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.
  • Eagerness to learn current mold building techniques.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as necessary.
  • Familiarity with the latest cutting tool technology.
  • Experience with CAD and CAM.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to clock in and clock out of production jobs.
  • Physical Demands
