Salary:

Summary/Objective: Support contractual and office workflow by promoting best practices, partnering effectively with teammates, and utilizing high-functioning systems. Day-to-day activities include contract reviews and processing, data input and tracking, office supply management, and leadership support. You support the 5 pillars of success: safety, quality, client satisfaction, schedule, fair and reasonable profit earned.

  • Safety – is this a safe policy? Do we promote contract/policy compliance?
  • Quality – are we producing quality policies? Are we training teammates?
  • Client Satisfaction – are we communicating well with Harper teammates? Do we work professionally with external partners?
  • Schedule - do we follow up in a timely manner? Do our practices promote the project schedule?
  • Fair and Reasonable Profit Earned – are we promoting quick contract turnaround/execution to limit reliance on less cost-effective options? Do our systems use Harper’s time/money efficiently?

 

Essential Functions:

  • Contract Review
  • Review and mark up Owner contracts.
  • Track internal compliance with contract execution policies.
  • Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained.
  • Support Administrative Services Manager in contract review/tracking.
  • Support Administrative Services Manager with Contract/RFP document reviews and project start-up support.
  • Work with Insurance Partners and Surety agencies in providing the correct insurance and bonds for Projects being performed by Harper.
  • Negotiate with Trade Partners to finalize Master Agreements used between both parties for current and future work endeavors.
  • Additional projects and duties to assist managers within the department.
  • Make recommendations for the development and revision of risk management documents, procedures, and forms; assists in the development of policies, and regulations.

 

Leadership Support:       

  • Run reports as requested or on cadence.
  • Scheduling/calendar support as required.

 

Continuing Education:

  • Maintain your understanding of Harper portfolio to easily discuss services.
  • Maintain industry knowledge to create best practices related to contract review.

 

Data Management:

  • Solicit feedback from teammates/external parties as required.
  • Ability to think critically, develop creative and practical solutions, and function proactively.
  • Support the overall systems for contract review and negotiation.
  • Support the annual budget by tracking current budget.
  • Data management for Harper company-wide contracts negotiations and executions.
  • Independently manage workload and maintain documentation for tracking of work requests.
  • Be able to learn and use available and new technologies for assessment and reporting.
  • Assist with vendor management, quality control and utilization as needed.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of contract law would be preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.


Work Environment: Typical office hours. Hours may vary depending on demand. 70% Sitting, 30% Standing or Walking.


Physical Demands: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work. No special physical demands are required to perform the work but usually involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, driving an automobile, etc. While this work typically is not physically demanding, it can be mentally demanding, with many deadlines needing to be met consistently.


Traveled Required: 5% or less to visit direct reports as required and corporate events. Most trips will be day trips.


Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of contract review/negotiation experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • BA in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Previous water/wastewater contract review preferred.
  • Experience in Procore Project Management Software preferred.
