Job Description

The role of the Process Support Specialist (PSS) is to serve as a production or packaging line leader by providing support to the Operations Supervisor by leading all day-to-day activity associated with running all production or packaging equipment within an assigned area. The PSS is responsible for ensuring all routine regulatory checks are complete, all appropriate production data is maintained, and all ingredient transactions are recorded properly in NetSuite and report to the Supervisor when any condition exists that prevents these duties from being carried out. The PSS is also required to set up and clean up all equipment at the beginning and end of shifts.

Job Duties included, but not limited to, are listed below:

• Understand the set-up, operation, and programming of all equipment in the work area

• Know and understand all specifications and formulations for products produced within the work area

• Have a thorough knowledge of all regulatory procedures and documentation that is required in the work area

• Coordinate the team job rotations and break schedule as established by Operations Supervisor

• Communicate to employees any last-minute changes or expectations for the day

• Follow FDA and Quality Control Regulations

• Understand and model the Companies Environmental, Health, and Safety polices

• Help review paperwork on the production floor and ensure that proper documents are used

• Communicate labor shortages to supervisors, and help develop solutions to overcome these obstacles

• Assist Operations Supervisor in ensuring that employees are utilizing their time properly

• Immediately report equipment, ingredient, or employee relations issues to management

• Troubleshoot production issues, and provide feedback and ideas for solutions

• Participate in writing of OIF's, root cause problem solving, 5S improvements, and other Lean activities

• Verify all material usage through completion of process orders in the ERP system daily

• May perform other duties not listed above as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

• Two years of experience or more working in manufacturing environment preferred

• One year of experience or more leading workplace teams preferred

• Ability to speak, read, and write English that allows for full communication with employees at all levels of the plant, and will allow for effective completion of forms, is required

• Must be able to perform basic math (i.e., add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance) with the use of a calculator

• Must be able to document information as needed

• Must be able to pass a test to obtain and maintain a valid forklift/Powered Industrial Truck license

• Must be computer literate in basics of Microsoft Office

• Must be able to work all shifts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• This environment includes cold temperatures, dust, noise, wet floors, climbing ladders and potentially slippery conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and noise levels that exceed 85dBL

• Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment including steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, eye protection, smock, and hairnet
