Job Description

The Director of Finance works collaboratively with other departments to ensure financial goals are met while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve financial objectives.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control procedures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Manage cash flow effectively, including monitoring receivables, payables, and cash reserves to optimize liquidity and working capital.
  • Implement strategies to minimize financial risks and maximize returns on investments.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor regulations.
  • Supervise the finance team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Review and approve financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial implications of operational decisions and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives, providing financial expertise and insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and capital projects, conducting cost-benefit analysis and ROI assessments.
  • Support business development efforts by providing financial analysis and projections for potential ventures or expansions.

¿What are we looking for?

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

· Minimum of five (5) years of related progressive experience in hotel Accounting or related.

· Prior Financial Controller or Director of Finance experience, preferably at a luxury or lifestyle hotel.

·Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and compliance.

· Computer literacy required, and Spreadsheet knowledge required.

· Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.

· Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Proficiency in M3 hotel accounting software preferred.

· Fully bilingual (English & Spanish)
