Apple Valley Childcare Center is looking for a qualified preschool teacher to manage and supervise the 2 year-old classroom. We serve children from 2 to 6 years old. Candidates should have at least 12 units in early childhood development. Experience working in a preschool is preferred. The position is from 9 am - 6 pm 5 days a week. This TEMPORARY position will run from May 29th, 2024 until August 7th 2024 with the possiblity of a full-time job offer at the end of the temporary position. Duties include:

Planning, supervising, and implement a learning and care program for the 2-year-old class that aligns with the school's educational and spiritual policies and philosophy.

Meeting the individual needs of each child.

Creating relationships with the children that consider each child's individual culture and socioeconomic background.

Treating all children with dignity and respect.

Creating a classroom community in which each child has a role.

Assisting children with basic daily activities such as serving lunch, settling down for a nap, taking children to the restroom, and changing diapers.

Creating a welcoming, tidy, and clean classroom environment to include bulletin boards, posters, decor, and daily basic clean-up.

Sharing basic housekeeping duties with other staff such as wiping tables and chairs, vacuuming and sweeping, wiping doors and walls, picking up toys and craft materials, and putting supplies away when not in use.

Participating in professional growth opportunities.

Effectively working with classroom assistants.

Creating positive relationships with children and their families.

Maintaining a professional demeanor and loyalty to the school at all times.

Following policies and procedures outlined in the parent and employee handbooks.
