Job Description

A Place Of Our Own, Pediatric Day Healthcare Center is seeking a friendly experienced medical assistant with strong work ethic and compassionate heart for special needs children with medical disabilities to work in a daycare-like setting. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Monitoring patients emotional, mental, and medical wellbeing and reporting changes to the nursing staff.

Attending to the patients during transportation and conducting wellness screenings prior to transportation admission.

Assisting nurses with heights and weights.

Feeding and diapering children.

Facilitating and encouraging patient engagement in social and academic activities.

Taking precautions to reduce infections and increase patient safety, such as, disinfecting surfaces, washing dishes and tidying center.

Working together with the nursing and therapy team to facilitate the greatest possible outcome for each child.

Qualifications:

18 years or older

Have a medical assistant certification in good standing without restrictions.

Have physical stamina when performing tasks such as lifting, turning, and transferring patients.

Have at least 1 Year documented experience in childcare or at least 6 months caring for a medically fragile child.

CPR certified
