Here's what you'd do:

  • Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and verifying complex mechanical systems.
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
  • Drill, countersink, ream, and tap holes according to blueprints.
  • Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using essential measuring tools.
  • Tack
    -weld fitted parts together.
  • Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure specifications are met.
  • Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
  • Locate and mark workpiece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
  • Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.
  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
  • Use all cranes, hoists, lifting, and safety equipment according to safety requirements and industry best practices.
  • Review, understand, and complete all necessary documentation accompanying work assignments (including travelers/data packages).
  • Inspect the quality of work of self and others.
  • Possess a dedicated work ethic to expedite all assigned tasks through the department within the Quality Policy and Procedures guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean, organized work environment through weekly and daily 5
    -S activities.
  • Perform assigned jobs efficiently, with minimal errors and high
    -quality craft.
  • Communicates defects, issues, and concerns with supervisor; seeks guidance/instruction as needed.
  • Works individually or as a team.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in an AS9100
    -regulated environment.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Basic math skills necessary.

  • Proficient in Pulse / Pulse Aluminum MIG 4043 or 5356 fillers.
  • Ability to read/follow complex blueprints, layouts, drawings, and instructions (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing (ANSI
    -Y 14.5) drawing interpretation and shop math.
  • Able to perform accurate, repetitive, and steady work with minimal errors.
  • Basic Microsoft Office applications
  • Vocational training.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Must have or acquire and maintain all necessary hand tools and measuring tools to support departmental work assignments.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. unassisted; must be able to push, pull, sit, stand, and bend up to 8 hours per day uninterrupted.
  • Overtime as necessary to meet project goals.
