• Function as a professional who assumes responsible for assisting the Pathologist with autopsies, performing or assisting in accessioning, dissection, grossing, evisceration, description, and histologic sampling of a full range of surgical specimens under the general supervision of a Pathologist.
• Other duties may arise and be carried out as assigned to meet quality standards expected for patient care.
• All duties performed will be within the guidelines set forth by regulatory and hospital guidelines to maintain, manage and assure specimen integrity.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree, Anatomic Pathology, or equivalent education / experience
• Three (3) years’ experience at a hospital laboratory performing technical duties relating to anatomic pathology.
• Familiarity with Anatomic Pathology procedures, techniques and instrumentation, experience including grossing surgical specimen

Preferred Job Requirements

• ASCP or equivalent certification as a Pathology Assistant
• Familiarity with Epic Lab information system
