The Benefits and Leave Specialist is responsible for managing the administration of employee leaves and administering various benefits programs for Link Logistics. You will be responsible for coordinating leave requests with our leave provider, administering benefit programs, and assisting with related administrative tasks.This role interacts strongly with internal stakeholders and external partners, such as consultants, partners, and vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all types of leave requests with our vendor, including parental leave, FMLA, STD/LTD, military, and sabbatical. Work with our employee relations manager for all employee accommodations.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for leave programs, providing guidance and support throughout the leave process. Leads the coordination of any state leave programs that are not managed by vendor.

  • Ensures HRIS and payroll records are accurate.

  • Mange vendor relationship to ensure quality and excellent customer service is provided to employees.

  • Stay informed about changes in benefit laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and competitiveness.

  • Administer benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, legal and accident plan, flexible spending and health spending accounts, retirement plans, etc.).

  • Assist in coordinating daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident, and death claims.

  • Manage Worker's Compensation administration.

  • Work with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure accurate and timely administration of employee benefits.

  • Respond to all benefit inquiries and questions to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA-related requirements.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of new benefit programs as needed.

  • Support all wellness initiatives, challenges, and communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources, business administration, or related field.

  • 3-5 years of human resources, benefits or leave administration experience.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits.

  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal. Strong organization, customer service and time management skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) compliance standards.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Excel & Word and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Possess excellent analytical skills.

  • Prefer a SHRM, HRCI or related discipline certification.

  • Prior HRIS experience; preferably Workday.
