  • Wage: $15.00/hour
  • Starting wage is $16.50/hour at select sites
  • Weekend shift differential - additional $2.00 per hour for all shifts
  • $2,000 retention bonus available for select positions
  • Available shifts: First shift, second shift, third shift, part-time, full-time

 

To be successful in this role as a Direct Support Professional, you’ll need to be mindful of and empathetic toward residents' disabilities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact with residents in a way that helps them lead independent and productive lives. DSPs should promote participation in a range of activities and help foster meaningful interactions between residents and the community.

We serve individuals with varying levels of behavioral needs. For our more behavioral programs, we are also seeking candidates who have prior experience with intense high behaviors, both verbal and physical. You will provide support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and people who are faced with mental health and behavioral challenges. We are looking to hire staff who are patient, have good decision-making and crisis-management skills, and who will not be intimidated by these behaviors. Prior IDD, mental health, psychiatric, and/or security experience is strongly preferred.

Specific job duties can include:

  • Assisting with/providing prompts for personal care needs
  • Administering medication
  • Performing housekeeping duties (meal prep, cleaning, laundry)
  • Transporting clients in company vehicle (drive to and from appointments, outings, grocery shopping, day program)
  • Adherence to behavior support plans & protocols
  • Responding to behavioral incidents (may include use of Handle with Care training techniques and verbal de-escalation)
