Robert Half is seeking a candidate for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk that is able to start immediately. Based out of the Santa Barbara, California area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary opening. In this progressive department, career growth and quick advancement is possible. The Accounts Payable Clerk responsibilities will include matching and batching code invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks.


Key responsibilities


- Implement full-cycle A/P


- Help with internal and external audits as required


- Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks


- Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed


- Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling


- Perform special projects as assigned


- Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them


- Provide support to internal business partners


- Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

- Great attention to detail

- Filing experience preferred

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience

- Data entry experience

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
