Special Education Teacher - Cleveland, OK

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join a school district in Cleveland, OK. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring that they receive the necessary education and resources to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Adapt instructional materials and teaching techniques to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
• Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including administrators, general education teachers, therapists, and parents, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and life skills.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current on best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education (Oklahoma state certification preferred).
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Dedication to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with special needs.
