Job Description SummaryThe Los Angeles Times is looking for an Offices Services Coordinator to join our dynamic team! This role is responsible for mailroom duties including; receiving and sorting incoming mail/packages to distribute to other departments or individuals, processing all outgoing mail/packages to meet pick-up deadlines.Job DescriptionProcess incoming pallet of newspaper products from external vendor, sort, provide acknowledgements to requestors and deliver products
Manage the daily newspaper delivery from the external vendor by ensuring all products ordered were received, notify internal customers of items received and deliver to proper parties
Sort and distribute incoming mail, scan incoming packages
Incoming & outgoing mail is processed in a timely manner to meet all pick-up deadlines from USPS, UPS, FedEx
Sort and deliver mail and packages to appropriate departments and personnel
Daily corporate mail pick-up and delivery
Incoming packages are logged and tracked to ensure they are delivered to the correct party
Establishes and maintains accurate shipping files for internal and external shipping records
Know and understand SOP for identifying and handling suspicious mail/packages
Collect outgoing mail, package items when necessary, and apply correct postage using postage meter equipment
Determine appropriate shipping method to ensure cost effective and timely delivery for packages
Monitor and maintain equipment and inventory for all Mail Room/shipping supplies
Receive and distribute outgoing mail and parcels by weighing, printing postage tapes, affixing postage
Researches and resolves all questions/problems related to shipping
Fulfill daily orders from the Company's online store
Online store orders are pulled, verified, and packaged daily to meet outgoing deadlines
Researches and resolves all questions/problems related to returned or missing orders
Reship orders when items are damaged or special request from E-Commerce team
Monthly inventory count of store products housed in the mailroom
Oversee shredding bins
Escort shredding company representative to all floors to collect material from bins
Ensure that bins on each floor are emptied on a regular basis
Notify Facilities Manager if bins need additional service
Job requirements:
High School diploma OR previous mailroom experience
Ability to lift, move and carry moderate to heavy items
Mail delivery and sorting experience
Regularly update processes and documentation
Effective communicator in verbal and written form to collaborate with stakeholders
Ability to multitask and prioritize competing priorities to meet deadlines
Proficiency of basic computer operations and ability to use various mail and delivery technology tools
Collaborates with internal and external customers
Able to work in all areas in the Storeroom/Mailroom and Shipping operations as necessary
Preferred qualifications:
Associate's degree
Proficiency with postal meter equipment
Exceptional customer service skills
Outstanding organizational skills

The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. At The L.A.
