MASSHIRE CENTRAL CAREER
CITY OF WORCESTER

The City of Worcester seeks applicants for the position of Program Facilitator (Administrative Assistant, Gr 6) within its MassHire Central Career Center for the Executive Office of Economic Development. Under the direction of the ATR Program Supervisor, the Program Facilitator will work closely with the Access to Recovery (ATR) program partners, oversee the cohort career pathway curriculum activities, and provide administrative support to other Career Center teams. The ATR Paths to Empowerment (P2E) Program is a 3-week, 60-hour course that addresses the unique barriers that people in early recovery face when seeking employment, and assist participants become job ready. The position will co-facilitate curriculum, provide support, and case management to program participants, complete documentation and narrative reports, and regularity collaborate with community and outside agencies to ensure program success. The ATR Program Facilitator will be required to travel between sites based on operational needs.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

  • Co-facilitate the Access to Recovery (ATR) - Paths to Empowerment (P2E) curriculum, an ongoing 3-week cycle of pre-employment workshops for individuals in early recovery
  • Successfully create a positive atmosphere and a safe space for open discussions for program participants
  • Provide support to all program participants in a way that reflects the dignity and worth of every individual, as well as address barriers associated with justice-involved populations & those in active recovery
  • Network, collaborate and communicate efficiently and effectively with participants, ATR partners, including coordinators, administrative/technical support, residential treatment centers, and other community agencies serving identified population
  • Perform associated case management duties for cohort participants and other MassHire Central customers, as needed
  • Develop Individualized Service Plans based on assessments and perform appropriate data entry. Maintain accurate, time sensitive, and confidential database systems for all required aspects of programs
  • Follow up with progress notes on a regular basis in accordance with established standards, definitions, protocols, and policies
  • Conduct timely, accurate, and complete documentation and reports reflecting services rendered and progress made toward mutually identified participant goals, as well as referrals to resources
  • Communicate any related issues &/or concerns to the Program Supervisor, in a timely manner
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings, and job-related trainings, as required
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Program Supervisor, or other leadership at MassHire Central Career Centers
  • Provide general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and preparing workshop materials

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and build consensus for successful implementation of project, team initiatives, and organizational goals and objectives
  • Ability to effectively provide guidance to individuals with barriers to employment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as well as individually
  • Ability to network and collaborate with program partners on behalf of Career Center
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Services, or related field OR;

o An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the required duties of the position will be considered in lieu of the above-mentioned requirements.

  • Experience with group facilitation and/or case management
  • Experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, & Twitter
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and Online platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Services, or related field
  • One (1) year of experience with substance abuse and recovery counseling
  • One (1) year of experience in a workforce development environment
  • One (1) year of experience with working with local community resources including government and/or non-government agencies
  • Two (2) years of experience with group facilitation
  • Two (2) years of experience with providing case management

SALARY RANGE: $25.83 - $31.18 hourly, full-time, with an excellent benefits package.
