Mechanical Superintendent (University and Campus Construction)

Mechanical Superintendent Position Summary:

The Superintendent is responsible for field operations and technical support on large projects ensuring the safe, timely and profitable completion of each project.

Hiring Requirements/Preferences for Mechanical Superintendent

• High school or technical school diploma or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• At least 7-10 years' experience in a leadership role in underground or utility construction is required.
• Successfully supervised projects of at least $3.5M and demonstrate the capacity to supervise single projects between $4M and $8M.
• Demonstrated experience completing work in a university setting preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of pump and machine repair, basic electrical knowledge; craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
• Knowledge and understanding of the general and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials, understanding of line and grade and survey methods.
• Proficiency in construction cost control, basic accounting, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with scheduling software like Primavera and Microsoft Project.
• OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
