Job Title: Benefit Specialist
Location: Osawatomie, KS


As a SOAR Benefits Specialist, you will be part of the Client Services Department, supporting the SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) program.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for helping individuals experiencing homelessness. A commitment to client confidentiality and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential.

What You'll Do:

• Identify potential clients through outreach efforts, referrals, and collaboration with community partners.
• Assist clients with completing applications for SSI/SSDI benefits, including gathering information, obtaining medical records, and writing reports.
• Accompany clients to appointments and coordinate visits with medical professionals to secure supporting documentation for their applications.
• Provide case management services as needed, ensuring clients receive the necessary support throughout the application process.
• Assist the team with administrative tasks and develop strategies to track client services provided.

What We Need:

• Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health or related field (Job Requirement 1).
• At least 2 years of experience working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness and/or mental illness.
• Experience working within a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
