POSITION:

Edwards, Inc., is a full service industrial general contractor providing construction, fabrication, and crane services. Edwards, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Pipe Detailer in Spring Hope, NC.

SUMMARY:

The pipe detailer will create and incorporate 3D scanning with a wide range of software including: Solidsworks, Revit, Plant 3D, and Navisworks. The pipe detailer will produce fabrication Iso's and as-built drawings utilizing the FARO Scanners with 3D software.

  • Qualifications:
    • Proficient with AutoCAD.
    • 3D Pipe Modeling is a plus.
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in MSOffice Programs and Outlook.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Read, comprehend, and interpret plan drawings, P&ID and PFD documents, isometric drawings, details, specifications, and material and equipment submittals.
    • Use project-assigned CAD/BIM software tools (including Plant3d, Revit, and Navisworks) to produce coordinated 3D models of our scope of work, including necessary supplementary components, supports, and equipment to support the output of fully detailed fabrication and installation drawings
    • Produce detailed fabrication drawings, including piping spools, support fabrication details, and detailed assembly drawings for shop-fabricated assemblies.
    • Produce detailed installation drawings, including piping layout drawings, support installation drawings, and spool maps (both isometric and orthographic).
    • Produce any required supplemental drawings to accurately convey the scope of work for fabrication and installation. These may include details, sketches, sleeve and penetration drawings, equipment and equipment pad layout drawings, slab insert drawings, and point files for robotic total station layout.
    • Generate reports necessary to support estimating, material buyout, fabrication, QA, and field productivity tracking. These may include bills of material, quantity takeoffs, cut lists, weld lists, and system reports.
    • Perform site measurement and layout for field routed piping systems as required to produce the above fabrication and installation drawings.
    • Adhere to the standards in place for project controls, drawing output, and file management.
    • Integrate and maintain a positive relationship with the extended project team, including proactive engagement in problem solving and productivity innovations.
    • Commit to and take ownership of managing and meeting project deadlines.
    • Actively participate in the RFI process for resolving discrepancies and securing missing information.
    • Identify potential routing conflicts with structure and other trades, and work proactively to resolve them.
    • Assist in the generation of work packages and drawing document control tracking.
    • Create red line as built models and drawings (as required by contract) and submit to customer.
  • Working Conditions and Environment:
    • Valid North Carolina Driver's License
    • Pre-employment motor vehicle and criminal background checks and drug screen required.
    • This is a fulltime position. The normal work week will be Monday through Friday (at least 50 hours a week) 7:00am through 5:30 pm or whatever time commitment is required that week to fulfill your duties. Weekend work will be required when a project warrants it. Some out-of-town/overnight travel and considerable driving time may be required.
    • Follow all rules set forth in the current edition of the Edwards, Inc., Employee Handbook.
    • Monitor and enforce current OSHA and Edwards, Inc., safety guidelines on your projects.
    • Minimum PPE on work sites are company logo hardhat with protective eyewear, safety shoes and safety vest when appropriate.
    • Working Conditions may include, but not be limited to: various environmental conditions and temperatures, indoor and outdoor activities, the physical ability to climb stairs, or ladders of varying heights, sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time and lifting up to 10-20 lbs.
