We are a leading construction company expanding our operations to establish a new division focused on custom home building in the Naples, FL area. Our projects within this division will range from $6 million to $30 million, featuring homes spanning from 6,000 to over 20,000 square feet. We are committed to delivering exceptional craftsmanship, unparalleled quality, and impeccable attention to detail. As we embark on this new venture, we are seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to lead our custom home building division.

 

Position Overview:

As the General Manager of the New Division Custom Home Builder, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing our presence in the custom home building market. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the division, with a primary focus on budgeting, production, and profitability. Your expertise in construction, combined with your leadership skills, will be instrumental in successfully executing projects and ensuring the division's long-term success. This position offers a 2-year contract and a relocation package.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish and lead the new division dedicated to custom home building, including the development and execution of a strategic business plan.
  •  
  • Take ownership of the division's financial performance, setting and managing budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered within established cost parameters.

  • Oversee the entire custom home building process, from project initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.
  •  
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of professionals, including project managers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  •  
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within the division, promoting innovation, best practices, and continuous improvement.
  •  
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, designers, and other stakeholders, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  •  
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to custom home building, and adjust division strategies accordingly.

  • Monitor and analyze division performance, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
  •  
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on custom home building and project management.
  •  
  • Proven track record of successfully managing high-value residential projects, including experience with projects ranging from 6,000 to over 20,000 square feet.
  •  
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
  •  
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  •  
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulations related to custom home building.
  •  
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  •  
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  •  
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
