Salary: $15.00 - $17.00

General Summary

Cleans and performs custodian care of plant and office to ensure a clean, orderly plant and office environment.  May perform routine maintenance of equipment and make minor repairs to premises and furnishings. Maintains buildings and grounds. Duties include but not limited to machine and equipment repairing and carpentry work.


Essential Job Functions: 

  • Cleans plant and office buildings by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash.
  • Performs routine maintenance including replacing light bulbs, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and performing simple repairs to furnishings as needed.
  • Performs groundwork that includes snow removal, mowing, fertilizing, weed control around buildings/AFC units, trimming and pruning as needed. Repairs yards and fences as needed.
  • Performs general landscaping and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • May schedule routine maintenance for heating and cooling systems, including changing furnace filters on quarterly basis.
  • Maintains company assigned vehicle by keeping clean and orderly and by having regular scheduled maintenance.
  • Maintains all maintenance tools on a regular scheduled time frame.
  • Maintains clean and orderly supply room, orders cleaning supplies and paper products as needed.
  • May perform custodial duties at Star City CO building as needed
  • Collects and disposes of recyclable items monthly.
  • Makes Post Office runs daily to pick up and deliver mail.
  • Makes bank deposits weekly or more as needed.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management. *

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of general building and grounds repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and solutions. 
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures. 
  • Skill in operating various hand and power tools. 
  • Skill in operating various grounds and maintenance equipment including mower, weed eater, snow blower, truck and trailer. 
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player.


Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous facilities maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Seeing: 75-100%

Must be able to read computer screen and various reports.


Hearing: 75-100%

Must be able to hear well enough to communicate

with employees and business contacts.


Standing/Walking: 50-74%

Must be able to able to clear walkways, weed eat, mow grounds.


Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 50-74%

Must be able to repair and replace fixtures.


Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 50-74%

Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs., clear walkways and mow grounds.


Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: 50-74%

Must be able to use needed tools and equipment.


Working Conditions:
