Pay rate: $17.60-$24/hour (based on experience)
This position is part-time. A flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends desirable.

Our swim instructors provide skill-based swim & water safety instruction to people of all ages. They maintain constant supervision of students to ensure safety as well as create positive, nurturing relationships with students by promoting and supporting the potential of all students in the program.
Successful candidates for this position possess the following skills-
- Strong communication skills.
- Supportive of diversity and inclusion in all interactions
- Ability to motivate and encourage students from diverse backgrounds
- Enthusiasm for teaching and developing the skills of students
Minimum Qualifications-
- Minimum 16 years of age.
- Fingerprint clearance from both Department of Justice (DOJ) & FBI, which includes sex offender screening.
- Must have availability in the evenings and on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications-
- Current YMCA approved certifications: CPR & First Aid for the Professional Rescuer with AED and YSL V6 (or the ability to be certified within the first 60 days of employment). Lifeguard certification desired.
- Significant knowledge of swimming/aquatics, previous experience in competitive swimming.
- A desire to become a certified lifeguard.
- Language skills in Spanish (.50 cent/hour language differential).
