Northwest Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Physicist to join our esteemed client's team in Lewiston, ID on a full-time basis. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in patients.

Our client is a leading regional hospital with a state-of-the-art Radiation Oncology Program, and our client's physicist has retired after 30+ years but will remain available PRN to help cover vacation for the new physicist.

This critical role is supported by the following roles:

  • 1 Full-time onsite dosimetrist and one full time remote dosimetry support
  • Full- time radiation therapists with three positions posted. We would want five to be fully staffed. Positions are currently being filled with travel staff.
  • Full- time radiation oncologist
  • 2 Elekta Linacs, one Synergy and one Versa (our radiation machines/linear accelerators)
  • Current EMR is Mosaiq
  • Radiation treatment planning system is Pinnacle and Monaco, we will transition to Monaco completely over the next several months.
  • Our client does 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and VMAT will be used on the Versa and is currently commissioning the new QA system for VMAT. We do NOT do brachytherapy.
  • Average volume is about 35-40 patients on treatment.
  • The Medical Physicist will perform duties pertaining to treatment machine calibration, dosimetry, treatment planning, and monitoring of radiation received by employees. He/she will also have responsibilities in helping with simulation of patients and teaching therapists in areas of dosimetry and computer planning and supervises the Medical Dosimetrist.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Must haves to be considered)
  • Board Certified in medical physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) preferred
    Prior experience in radiation oncology required.

WORK CONDITIONS/HOURS

Normal hours are 8 a.m. 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. However, schedules may vary in accordance with business necessity. Minimal exposure to radiation. Lifting will be required from time to time, i.e., transporting of patients. Will be required to walk to the main Medical Center building when needed for C.T. scans or implant therapy.
