Brief Description:
The Director of School Administration and Operations is a crucial member of our school's leadership team, playing a significant role in supporting the Executive Director with the management and administrative functions of the school. This individual ensures the seamless integration of Montessori educational principles with the operational dynamics of the school environment. The role is designed for a professional who excels in collaborative leadership, strategic planning, and fostering an inclusive community aligned with our educational mission.
Responsibilities:
Supportive Leadership and Strategic Planning:
- Assist the Executive Director in the strategic oversight of school operations, educational programming, and policy implementation to align with Montessori standards and school objectives.
- Participate in decision-making processes, offering insights and solutions to enhance educational outcomes and operational efficiency.
Lead special projects and initiatives that contribute to the school's mission and continuous improvement.
Staff Development and Administrative Support:
- Support the recruitment, training, and mentoring of teaching and administrative staff to ensure a team that is skilled, motivated, and dedicated to Montessori principles.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities and performance evaluations, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Assist in managing staff schedules, ensuring optimal operation of school activities and adherence to educational standards.
Operational Management and Facilities Oversight:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to manage the school’s physical infrastructure, ensuring a safe, secure, and engaging learning environment.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, liaising with contractors and service providers to meet the school's needs efficiently.
Implement and monitor health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Community Engagement and Effective Communication:
- Actively participate in the school's engagement with the community, supporting strong relationships with parents, guardians, and educational partners.
- Contribute to the communication strategy for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating transparent and effective information dissemination.
- Address community inquiries and concerns, assisting in mediating situations as needed to maintain a positive and collaborative school atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in an educational or administrative role, with a strong preference for experience in a Montessori or similar educational setting, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in leadership, strategic planning, and operational management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in using educational and office technology tools.
- Commitment to Montessori education principles and the mission of the non-profit organization.
