Job Description Summary/Objective: RDF&P is a fast-paced, team environment company looking for a confident entry to mid-level Sandblaster. We are a custom metal fabrication shop that works on anything from structural pedestals for the semiconductor industry to handrails for local colleges. We have two locations: one in Forest Grove and one in Joseph. Our Forest Grove plant focuses on raised floors/pedestals and miscellaneous steel fabrication. Our Joseph shop is an extension of our Forest Grove shop. Crews will be working various hours depending on workload with possible mandatory overtime when required.
Our sandblast position assists in our Powder/Blast department. This candidate will support this department in any way needed to complete projects.

Duties Include:

• Start up and stop equipment.

• Hold pressurized hose over shoulder and manipulate direction of blast

• Clean and treat parts in preparation for powder coating.

• Assist with production line in facility

• Able to use hand tools and other production equipment as needed

• Sweep and maintain area

• Forklift certification

• Ensure conformance to specifications

• Take instructions from supervisors

• Use proper lifting techniques and always follow safe work procedures

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day a MUST

• Able to use hand tools and other production equipment as needed

• Occasional lifting and/or pushing of carts with product to other workstations for shipping.

• Ability to bend over, crawl underneath, crouch beside or climb over work projects

• Ability to stand for long periods of time during the day

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full time compressed work shifts; 3am – 3:30pm & 3pm – 3:30am are the two shifts.
