Job Title: CNC Programmer / Machinist(Direct Hire)

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent / Direct Hire

Location: Elmira, NY

Shift: Days, Mon-Fri

Pay: $18-26+/hour, DOE may be higher

Essential job duties for this role will include:

• CNC Programming for Mazak lathes and milling machines using Mastercam
• Provides detailed set up sheets to the machine shop to ensure that the machinists are fully aware of what tools, tool paths and programming methods will be utilized in creation of the program.
• Provides technical support to machine shop when questions or comments arise about a particular program.
• Provides necessary instruction for a machine shop: including zero tolerance and reference points, setting tools offsets, conditional switches, manufacturing sketch / drawing, calculating requirements (including basic math, geometry and trigonometry)
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting cycles, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and updating programs; adherence to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Set Up and Operate CNC lathes, mills to perform machining operations according to blueprints, engineering drawings and job orders. – MUST Have Mazak and Mazatrol programming experience
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy using measuring instruments such as bore gauges and calipers.
• Work in a cross functional team and communicate effectively with co-workers, engineering and design groups.
• Other duties as assigned

We're looking for a CNC Set Up Operator / Mazak with the following background profile/skillset:

• 3 years' experience with Mastercam or equivalent software or suitable combination of machine programming and machine knowledge and experience.
• 5 years' experience in First Class Machining capacity
• Extensive experience with computer modeling software
