Gear Hobbing Machinist: Roscoe, IL
Our customer in Roscoe, Illinois is looking for talented individuals to join their world-class manufacturing family. As a Hobbing Machinist, you will primarily be responsible for operating departmental machines to meet customer quality—load and unload parts and perform basic inspections functions as needed.
Responsibilities of the Gear Hobbing Machinist:
- Unload & load parts
- Check parts on Vari-Roll
- Operate and adjust indicators
- Record inspection data
- Use no-go & go gages
- Communicate with supervisor & coworkers as needed during production
- Identify when parts are out of tolerance
- Identify any hob cutter issues
- Accurately count parts
- Record time input per job
- Maintain clean & organized work area (5S)
- Complete paperwork timely & accurately
- Read & understand travelers & related paperwork
- Time parts (if not making rate, consult set-up technician or supervisor)
Gear Hobbing Machinist Requirements and Qualifications:
- Basic math skills
- Basic measuring skills
- Blueprint reading ability
- Ability to read precision measuring tools
- Knowledge of SPC Gauge Talker
- Ability to use Vari-Roll, calipers, mics, and indicators
Pay for Gear Hobbing Machinist: $12-$22/hour depending on experience.
