Air Export Coordinator

Position Overview:

The Air Export Ops coordinates all activities associated with International Operations (Import, Export, Ocean, Air Shipments). Performs all duties in such a way as to promote internal customer satisfaction, while maintaining the high standards.

Duties and responsibilities

★★Plans and directs flow of air traffic moving to overseas destinations;
★Opens files for each shipment on the dedicated software system;
★Negotiates with domestic customers, as intermediary for foreign customers, to resolve problems and arrive at mutual agreements;
★Examines invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations;
★Prepares reports of transactions to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign customers;
★Examines documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements, to verify conversion of merchandise weights or volumes into system used by other country;
★Is responsible for moving shipments on time;
★Files documents in an accurate manner;
★Is responsible for all air export operation rate negotiations, forwarding, consolidations, documentation, pre-alerts, tracing, customer service, quotations to foreign offices and customer quotes;
★Assures that all dangerous goods shipments are handled according to regulations;
★Assists customers in compliance issues; certification; physical inspection and arrangements for dangerous goods packaging in compliance with regulation
★Track and communicate shipment delays or documentation issues to our clients and overseas agent(s)
★Providing support to fellow associates, supervisors, and department managers as necessary

Experience and Qualification Requirements

★1+ year of Air Export operations experience highly preferred
★Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend effectively, and communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
★Proactive and strong organization skills
★Good Microsoft Office and computer skills
★Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
★Thorough knowledge of domestic trucking including LTL, FTL and over weight cargo, incoterms
★Cargowise experience is a plus
★Previous experience in freight forwarding highly preferred
