Laser Engraving Technician

The Laser Engraving Technician will lead our fast-growing customization division focusing on the full cycle of producing custom-made gifts, from helping create the Shopify eCommerce listing to setting up the artwork in CorelDRAW and finally engraving the product. The ideal candidate will be expected to work quickly and efficiently utilizing the latest software and machines. Currently, we use CorelDRAW software on our Epilog Fusion Pro 48 Combo Laser Engraver (CO2 120 watt; Fiber 50 watt). We also have a UV Printer made by PDS Equipment that this Technician will work with, including but not limited to setting up the artwork in Adobe Illustrator and finalizing production to come up with custom UV printed tumblers, golf balls, plaques, signs, and more!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop software to set up electronic files for laser engraving machine and UV printer
• Engrave keepsakes according to customer specifications and established company guidelines
• Open work orders via Shopify website & send job to laser engraving machine and/or UV printer
• Set machine and laser parameters and load files based upon defined settings
• Trouble-shoot laser and engraving issues
• Ability to follow verbal/written instructions
• Perform daily shutdown procedures including but not limited to cleaning all machines
• Advise Operations Manager of equipment issues, work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to orders
• Represent the organization favorably and in accordance with company handbook
• Other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Proficiency using computers required, includes working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
• Graphic design experience preferred including but not limited to Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or CorelDRAW
• Preference for those with one or more years’ experience as a laser engraving technician, prepress operator, screen print operator, or machine operator in a production environment
• Active position which requires frequent standing, lifting, and moving as it pertains to the laser machines
• Ability to solve problems, prioritize, and take direction
• Work proficiently under limited supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level attention to detail
