Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for an entry-level coastal engineer for our Corpus Christi (TX) or Houston (TX) offices. We are looking for qualified coastal engineers with the ability to perform analysis and design of coastal restoration projects including marsh restoration and beach nourishment; shoreline protection projects including revetments and breakwaters; and navigation projects including dredging, marinas, and harbors. Responsibilities may also include preparation of construction plans and specifications, preparation of proposals including project scope and fee estimates, and project management.

Suitable candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills and demonstrate familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, sediment transport, marine dredging, and basic geotechnical or structural systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related engineering field
  • EIT or Ability to obtain EIT within one year
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
