Welding Shop Foreman Job Information: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 23:30 PM. An occasional Saturday (such overtime is scheduled) Possible Direct Hire! Excellent Benefits Package including health, vision, dental, 401K, PTO, Sick Time, Paid Holidays Paying $43,500 - $49,900 Welding Shop Foreman Responsibilities: Key player in the fabricating of various steel and other metal components ordered by customers. Some large ticket items including structural steel, fittings, rebar and other reinforcing metal pieces. As a “working supervisor” fills in where needed, and performs all functions necessary to maintain scheduled assembly production requirements such as Grinding, Assembly, Assists in the Weld Shop and Quality Control At the beginning of each shift, reviews daily orders and delegates work and workers to different stations (approximately 25 employees) Assists in scheduling all workstations to satisfy the production demand on a timely basis. Delegate assignments to work centers daily and among shifts. Ensure workstations have all materials needed for production and all proper documentation ais submitted timely with each completed order. Reviews fabrication drawings and supporting documentation to ensure all necessary information and requirements are available to shop floor personnel. Evaluate non-steel material requirements (i.e., welding supplies, hardware, miscellaneous material) and ensure an adequate supply is available in a timely manner. Inspect progress of workers’ assignments daily. Record, evaluate and report progress and production rates and tendencies as required. Ensure production workers perform inspections in accordance with the quality control standards and order requirements. Serve as final QC inspector. Ensure complete documentation of parts inspected on appropriate paperwork as required. Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate individuals, and complete minor repairs as needed. Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications. Ensure all work centers are prepared and ready for the following shift. Personnel management including, but not limited to, interviewing, onboarding, training, reprimanding, rewarding, and terminating with the support of the plant manager. Support Corporate Operations Manager with welder performance qualifications testing and continuity maintenance. Welding Shop Foreman Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree or greater is preferred but not required. Two (2)+ years of prior industrial welding experience is required (MIG and/or TIG) Excellent computer skills and ability to handle volumes of paperwork associated with steel fabrication including Inspection Report filing, Quality Assurance documentation, sending emails, basic MS Excel spreadsheets and typing basic correspondence regularly Ability to call and talk to customers when needed to resolve questions or issues pertaining to their orders Detail oriented and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines. Strong Mechanical and Math Aptitude Must have strong welding capabilities and drawings/blueprint reading. #M1
