Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Cut Strings off roll coming into sew on area
  2. Remove roll ticket from ticket packet and give to Lift Truck Operator
  3. Pull roll off of lift truck pole into floor
  4. Take flap from core end of roll and align the selvages of roll with selvage of leader (or previous roll) on the sewing frame.
  5. Once both roll flaps are aligned across the width, cut the excess edges off with the electric sew on blade.
    1. Check guard on sewing machine to ensure that it is in place. If guard is not in place and secure, DO NOT OPERATE MACHINE and contact Coating Manager.
  6. Once edges are cut straight, sew the two ends of the rolls together using the coater sewing machine.
    1. Do a close visual check to make sure the seam is straight without skips
  7. Run rolls into J-Box and keep aligned as straight as possible
    1. Check for any visible defects on both the face and back of the roll
    2. If any defects are found, contact the Coating Manager immediately
  8. Monitor J-Box closely while rolls travel up to Applicator platform
    1. Keep selvages aligned on the desired mark on the frame
    2. If rolls get out of alignment, call Coating Manager immediately
  9. Continuously monitor J-Box levels while coater is in operation
    1. Always keep front J-Box full at all times when coater is running
  10. Communicate with Coater Operator in monitoring any upcoming style changes
  11. Notify Coating Manager immediately of any Safety, Quality, or Potential Production Issues
  12. Report any and all accidents to the Coating Manager immediately
  13. Follow all company regulations as specified in the PlayCore/Sprinturf Employee handbook
  14. Perform any and all other tasks as required by Coating Manager

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
