Overview:

We currently have a career opportunity for an experienced Supervisor to join our Tool Room team.

The Tool Room Supervisor* is responsible for scheduling and coordinating tool room employees and ordering replacement components and tool room supplies.
What You Will Do:
  • Maintain databases for PM schedules, replacement components, tool room supplies, and inventory.
  • Maintain and track Tool Room inventory.
  • Ensure that all tooling forms/paperwork are being filled out properly and Mattec is utilized
  • Assist in coordinating work with outside tooling houses.
  • Ensure the tool room floor and equipment are kept neat, clean and orderly.
  • Develop and promote continuous improvement projects within the shift and assist such efforts throughout the organization.
  • Maintain IATF16949/ISO14001 documentation for the Mold Maintenance department.
  • Work with QA on quality issues.
  • Work with Safety Committee to ensure that all safety rules are being adhered to.
  • Participates in APQP process as an active member and requires APQP Core training.
  • Perform duties of mold maintenance technician.
  • Report and follow proper procedures for all plant accidents and ensure all proper documentation is completed in legal time frames.
  • Wearing your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a condition of employment.

People Management

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels on each shift.
  • Ensure that employees comply with all Health, Safety, and Regulatory programs.
  • Responsible for time & attendance, completing performance/competency evaluations, competency/training logs, providing feedback, motivation and disciplinary actions for employees in assigned department(s).
  • Maintain employee training records, competency logs, and job descriptions for assigned employees.
  • Ensure employees have proper training and follow-up training as needed.
What You Bring (Qualifications):
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior tool room experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of plastic injection molding molds preferred.
  • Prior forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work non-standard hours and weekends as necessary to meet the needs of the customer.
Success in this role will require:
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to see fine details in drawings, in parts, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on the usage of precision tooling equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
