The role you’ll contribute:

The Unit Clerk / Telemetry technician is a dual function position with the Primary responsibility to observe cardiac rhythms using a central monitoring system and the prompt reporting changes in cardiac rhythm to primary nurse and/or charge nurse. Secondarily, this position provides secretarial duties for the smooth running of the assigned patient care unit in accordance with the Hospitals' mission, physicians and patient expectations. All other duties are tertiary to the Primary and Secondary duties outlined herein.

· Enters patient data into cardiac monitoring system, assures location of patient and monitor coincide.

\n \n

· Prepares and maintains patient record from admission to discharge through documentation of rhythm strips at predetermined intervals and with each change in rhythm.

\n \n

· Communicates changes in cardiac rhythm, rate or morphology promptly to the primary care nurse and/or charge nurse.

\n \n

· Recognizes need for and initiates Rapid Response / Code Blue timely and accurately.

\n \n

· Maintains responsibility for monitoring equipment Manages unit supplies, activities, time, and other resources in a cost effective manner to reduce waste and unnecessary expenditures.

Qualifications

\n \n

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

\n \n\n \n

· Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent

\n \n

· Prior completion of Basic EKG course with passing certificate / or certificate of completion prior to end of 90-day orientation

\n \n

· BLS -condition of employment

\n \n

· CPI within 6 months of employment (Emergency Department and Behavioral Health Units only)

\n \n\n \n
