Job Description

Jefferson Consulting Group is seeking a Human Capital Intern to support Jefferson's Human Capital Practice.

The Human Capital Intern will provide entry-level consulting support to Jefferson's Human Capital Practice and collaborate with Jefferson's Human Capital Specialists assigned to a variety of human capital contracts supporting federal agencies.

Overview of the Role:

The Human Capital Intern will have the opportunity to assist the Executive Director, Human Capital Programs, develop a variety of consulting practice tools and templates (e.g., project schedules and plans, reports of findings), to include a human capital operation manual of standard operating procedures, and prepare various marketing materials (e.g., marketing slicks, blog posts, podcasts). Additionally, the intern will assist Human Capital Specialists deliver human capital services across the company's four human capital competencies, workforce strategy, workforce management, workforce optimization and workforce analytics.

*This internship does not support Jefferson's internal human resources operations, instead provides candidates a broad opportunity to gain exposure to and experience supporting a variety of human capital consulting services provided to federal agency customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Workforce Strategy activities that may include performing workforce studies to evaluate organizational operations and emerging demands to propose recommendations to improve human capital operating plans, staffing plans, workforce development strategies, and approaches to talent acquisition.
  • Assist Workforce Management activities that may include evaluating human capital management activities and designing improvements to talent acquisitions, succession planning, performance and incentive systems, and workforce development processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with governmentwide, department, agency and work unit policies and regulations.
  • Assist Workforce Optimization activities that may include designing and implementing initiatives, projects, and programs to foster increased workforce cohesion, improved leadership and management competency, enhanced employee experience, that include employee satisfaction data collection and analysis, development hybrid workforce strategies, creating mentoring programs and providing one-on-one coaching.
  • Assist Workforce Analytics activities that may include gathering and interpreting relevant quantitative and qualitative employee perception and satisfaction data, such as the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS), pulse surveys, focus groups and in-depth interviews, performing basic statistical analysis of quantitative data sets, and creating data visualizations and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent teamwork skills and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates good judgment including understanding of when to take action, when to escalate, or when to request assistance from other staff members.

Preferred

  • Previous internship experience preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Office 365
