Position Summary:

The Store Planner/Commercial Kitchen Designer is responsible for designing and managing store layouts, which include fixtures, merchandisers and food service equipment plans from initial schematic concept to project completion. This position develops floor plans and equipment schedules for new stores, relocations, expansions, and renovations. The Store Planner/Commercial Kitchen Designer will coordinate with both internal and external teams to ensure the store layout is implemented effectively. They will look for ways to improve processes, stay up to date on the food service industry, product tutorials, and communicate with manufacturers / Reps to ensure project goals are being met.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop store layouts, select equipment specifications, produce inventory / merchandising strategies for various types of retail environments – Grocery, Convenience, Hospitality, QSR, Mercantile, etc.
• Use CAD and Revit programs to create functional store layouts.
• Specify food service equipment for various types of business – QSR, Kitchen, Bakery, Butcher, C-Store, Hospitality, etc.
• Evaluate traffic patterns and flow through various retail spaces
• Ensure store plans are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (ADA, fire, basic construction codes, etc.)
• Analyze existing layouts for potential problems and develop recommendations for resolutions
• Produce product orders to include store fixtures, merchandising supplies, new store equipment, etc.
• Actively communicates requests for scope of work changes to Creative Director, and obtains approval prior to making any adjustments.
• Collaborate with designers to implement equipment into millwork, counter units, and interior design
• Lead presentations showcasing equipment and store plans during client meetings.

Skills & Abilities:

• Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Project and time management skills, leading multiple projects on the same timeline
• Advanced computer design skills utilizing CAD, Revit, Autoquotes, KCL, and Adobe software
• Ability to create and deliver store plans on time and on budget
• The ability to multitask is required. This person must be able to adapt very well to change, manage the interest of multiple groups while driving the project towards an overarching goal.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience developing store layouts, selecting equipment specifications, producing inventory/merchandising strategies for various types of retail environments-Grocery, Convenience, Hospitality, QSR, Mercantile, etc.
• Associate's Degree or equivalent in Drafting, Engineering, or related field of study.
• Past experience in the food service equipment industry is preferred.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Construction, Site Planning and/or Space Planning Concept, Corporate or field-based retail experience is preferred.
